Groundbreaking Trial Shows Pulmonary Artery Denervation Significantly Reduces Clinical Worsening in Heart Failure Patients

Results from the PADN-HF-PH trial, simultaneously published in The New England Journal of Medicine and presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026, demonstrate that Pulmonary Artery Denervation (PADN) combined with guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) significantly reduced the risk of clinical worsening by 51% in patients with pulmonary hypertension associated with left heart disease (PH-LHD). The multicenter, randomized trial involving 264 patients also showed a 35.5% decrease in recurrent clinical events and improved functional capacity.
