A new study published in The Lancet provides the first large-scale, multi-center evidence base for the surgical treatment of lipoedema, a chronic and painful fat distribution disorder primarily affecting women. The LIPLEG study, conducted at 11 sites in Germany with 410 patients, found that liposuction can be significantly more effective than conservative therapy in improving key treatment outcomes.
