Study Shows Liposuction More Effective for Lipoedema Pain, Notes Higher Adverse Events

A new clinical trial published in The Lancet indicates that liposuction is more effective than conservative therapy for reducing leg pain and improving quality of life in patients with lipoedema. After 12 months, 68% of liposuction patients achieved pain reduction compared to 8% in the conservative therapy group. However, the study also reported a higher rate of serious adverse events with liposuction, at 8% versus 3%.
