A one-year clinical trial found that a tailored exercise program reduced the time spent in atrial fibrillation (AFib) by 45% compared with usual care. Participants in the exercise group also experienced improved cardiorespiratory fitness, resting heart rate, and significantly fewer total and AFib-related hospitalizations. The study involved 295 physically inactive individuals with non-permanent AFib in Norway.
