Novo Nordisk Halts Two Phase III Trials for Ziltivekimab in Heart Failure and Inflammation

Novo Nordisk has decided to prematurely terminate two Phase III trials, HERMES and ATHENA, evaluating its inflammation-targeting candidate ziltivekimab. The decision was based on a recommendation from a data monitoring committee, which concluded that the drug was unlikely to meet its goals in either study, following a previous setback in the ZEUS trial.
