Nationwide Recall of Epinephrine Injection Vials Due to Sterility Concerns and Particulate Matter

American Regent Inc. has initiated a nationwide recall of three lots of its Epinephrine Injection, USP 30 mg/ 30 mL (1 mg/mL) multi-dose vials. The recall is due to complaints of leaking and cracked vials, raising concerns about sterility and the possible presence of particulate matter, including nylon, cellulose, acrylic, polyethylene, and glass. Intravenous administration of contaminated epinephrine could lead to serious adverse health consequences.
