AstraZeneca's Tozorakimab Shows Significant Reduction in COPD Exacerbations in Phase III Trials, Receives FDA Priority Review

Full results from the positive Phase III OBERON and TITANIA trials for tozorakimab, a new biologic, have demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful efficacy in reducing moderate and severe exacerbations in a broad population of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). These findings, which included former and current smokers across various blood eosinophil counts, were simultaneously published in The New England Journal of Medicine and presented at the European Respiratory Society Congress 2026. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has also accepted the Biologics License Application for tozorakimab under Priority Review.
