The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its data on cyclosporiasis, reporting 19,595 laboratory-confirmed cases acquired in the U.S. since May 1, with 1,043 hospitalizations and two deaths. The federal outbreak linked to Taylor Farms de Mexico iceberg lettuce remains unchanged with 11,458 illnesses. State health departments report a higher total of 33,548 cases, reflecting different reporting criteria and timelines.
