StemRIM and Shionogi Announce Mixed Phase 2 Clinical Trial Results for Redasemtide in Epidermolysis Bullosa and Ischemic Stroke

StemRIM Inc. and Shionogi & Co., Ltd. have released topline results from Phase 2 clinical trials for redasemtide, a regeneration-inducing medicine candidate. In patients with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, the primary endpoint of refractory ulcer closure was met in three out of four patients, with some systemic symptom improvement. However, in a global Phase 2 trial for acute ischemic stroke, the primary endpoint (modified Rankin Scale at Day 90) did not show a statistically significant difference compared to placebo. No safety concerns were identified in either trial.
