U.S. Medical Societies Issue Joint 2026-2027 Immunization Guidance for Flu, COVID-19, and RSV

Leading national medical groups, including the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), have released joint immunization guidance for the 2026-2027 respiratory virus season. This guidance, based on a scientific review published in JAMA, recommends flu shots for everyone aged six months and older, with varying COVID-19 and RSV advice by age and risk, in response to federal advisory committee uncertainties.
