New England Journal of Medicine publishes positive Phase 3 data for oveporexton, the first orexin agonist to treat underlying cause of narcolepsy type 1.

Takeda announced that the New England Journal of Medicine has published results from two Phase 3 studies evaluating oveporexton (ORZEYFUL), an oral orexin receptor 2 (OX2R) agonist, in people with narcolepsy type 1 (NT1). Oveporexton is highlighted as the first and only medicine to treat the underlying cause of NT1, a chronic neurological disease driven by orexin deficiency. The data demonstrated significant and clinically meaningful improvements in symptoms and was generally well-tolerated.
