Final MATTERHORN Clinical Trial Results Published in The Lancet Support Perioperative Immunotherapy for Gastric Cancer

Final overall survival results from the global, randomized Phase 3 MATTERHORN clinical trial, published in The Lancet, indicate that adding the immune checkpoint inhibitor durvalumab to standard pre- and postoperative chemotherapy significantly improves survival in patients with operable, localized gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer. The study showed a 22% reduction in the risk of death, supporting this combination as a new standard treatment option.
