Health Study Initiated for Children Exposed to 9/11 Toxins

Twenty-five years after the September 11, 2001, attacks, a significant health study has been funded to track chronic illnesses in approximately 25,000 children. These individuals were living near the World Trade Center or were in utero during the attacks. The initiative aims to investigate long-term health risks, including cancers, cardiovascular diseases, and reproductive health outcomes, for a population previously underrepresented in 9/11 follow-up studies, which primarily focused on adults and first responders.
