The U.S. Embassy in San Jose, Costa Rica, has issued a health alert for travelers due to an updated Global Travel Health Notice for Dengue from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The CDC updated its notice on September 3, identifying Costa Rica among countries with higher-than-expected dengue cases, either reported locally or among U.S. travelers returning from these areas. Travelers are advised to take mosquito bite prevention precautions.
