Survey Reveals Widespread Shortages of Cancer Medications Across U.S.

A survey released on September 10, 2026, by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) highlights ongoing and critical shortages of anti-cancer medications in the U.S. All responding cancer centers reported a shortage of at least one anti-cancer agent, with over 20% experiencing shortages of five or more drugs. Notably, 94% of respondents indicated a critical shortage of ifosfamide, and 71% reported a shortage of carboplatin, both generic drugs vital for treating various cancers.
