CDC Plans Extensive Study on 9/11 Exposure Effects in Children

The CDC is initiating a major research effort to investigate the long-term health impacts on children and young people exposed to the 9/11 events. This study, mandated by Congress in 2022 with up to $50 million funding, aims to fill a 25-year knowledge gap regarding early-life exposures and adult health outcomes. The project is expected to commence in July 2027.
