Illinois Health Officials Warn of Measles Outbreak in Southwest Wisconsin, 155 Cases Reported

Illinois health officials have issued a warning to residents who may have traveled to southwest Wisconsin, a popular destination, due to an ongoing measles outbreak. Wisconsin health authorities reported 155 confirmed and six probable cases as of Friday, an increase of four cases since September 8. The outbreak is concentrated in Grant, Iowa, and Lafayette counties. Unvaccinated individuals who may have been exposed are advised to monitor for symptoms for 21 days and contact their healthcare provider before seeking in-person care to prevent further spread of the highly contagious virus.
