Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Updates Key Clinical Checklists for Pregnancy Care
The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) has released revised checklists for several critical areas of pregnancy care. Updates include a new 2026 checklist for antepartum care of patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, replacing the 2020 version. Additionally, SMFM has issued updated checklists for the management of monochorionic diamniotic and monochorionic monoamniotic twin pregnancies, also replacing their 2020 counterparts. An updated checklist for preeclampsia risk-factor screening has also been published to guide prophylactic low-dose aspirin recommendations. These revisions aim to improve patient outcomes by providing current, structured guidance for clinicians.
