Spain Recalls 22 Slimming Products Containing Unauthorized Sibutramine
The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has ordered the withdrawal of 22 slimming products from the market after confirming they contain sibutramine, an active ingredient not authorized in the European Union. Sibutramine was previously banned due to serious cardiovascular side effects, including increased heart rate and blood pressure, arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease, and cerebrovascular events.
