Zimbabwe Recalls Batches of Hypertension and Parkinson's Medications Due to Quality Concerns

The Ministry of Health and Child Care in Zimbabwe has confirmed the recall of specific batches of Nifedipine 10mg tablets and Levodopa/Carbidopa tablets manufactured by Remedica Ltd. The recall of Nifedipine 10mg (batches 112033 and 117367) follows quality monitoring by the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ). Additionally, Levodopa/Carbidopa 100mg/25mg tablets (batches 97261, 102600, 102603, 107232) showed appearance changes, and Levodopa/Carbidopa 250mg/25mg tablets (batches 99671, 102751, 102752) had drastic appearance changes and decreased Carbidopa assay, indicating potential chemical instability and compromised effectiveness.
