Azacitidine-Venetoclax Shows Prolonged Event-Free Survival Over Induction Chemotherapy in Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Findings from the investigator-initiated, open-label, multicenter, randomized, phase II PARADIGM study, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, indicate that treatment with azacitidine-venetoclax led to longer event-free survival (EFS) compared to induction chemotherapy in previously untreated adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) eligible for induction chemotherapy. This supports its use in fit patients with non-favorable risk, FLT3-non-mutated AML.
