CDC Reports Increase in Rabies Exposures and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis Use in Multiple US Jurisdictions

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning regarding increased rabies activity and associated human exposures across several U.S. jurisdictions since July 2026. The agency also noted a rise in rabies-related inquiries, increased use of rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), and errors in its administration.
