Drinking 'Very Hot' Beverages Linked to Over Triple the Risk of Esophageal Cancer in Large Study
A study of nearly 1 million UK adults, published in the International Journal of Cancer, found that individuals who preferred their tea or coffee 'very hot' had more than three times the risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) compared to those who preferred 'warm' beverages. The findings suggest that reducing beverage temperature could be a simple strategy for SCC prevention.
