Choking wildfire haze in Indonesia is exacerbating breathing problems on Borneo island, with over 113,000 people suffering respiratory illnesses associated with the fires as of September 9. More than 12.5 million people across seven provinces have been exposed to smoke and haze, leading to a significant increase in visits for respiratory illnesses at public health clinics.
