Measles Outbreak in Pennsylvania Leads to Four Deaths, Highest U.S. Fatalities in Decades

Pennsylvania health officials have confirmed two additional measles-associated deaths, bringing the state's total confirmed deaths this year to four and driving U.S. fatalities to the highest level in decades. All four individuals who died were unvaccinated, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The state's outbreak has grown to nearly 700 cases, contributing to over 3,290 measles cases recorded across the U.S. since early 2026.
