Blinatumomab Improves Event-Free Survival in Pediatric Leukemia Trial

A clinical trial published in The New England Journal of Medicine indicates blinatumomab significantly improved event-free survival in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia compared to chemotherapy. The 4-year event-free survival was 83.0% for blinatumomab versus 70.3% for the control group. This development could offer a new treatment option, despite more neurotoxic events.
