Pennsylvania Confirms Four Measles-Associated Deaths Amid Outbreak

Pennsylvania has confirmed four measles-associated deaths, including two additional fatalities reported on September 17, 2026. These are the first measles-associated deaths in the commonwealth in 35 years. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recorded 3,294 cases nationally as of September 10, 2026, across 47 jurisdictions, with Pennsylvania leading the country with 693 confirmed cases. All confirmed deaths in Pennsylvania were among unvaccinated individuals.
