FDA Approves Kerendia (finerenone) for Chronic Kidney Disease Associated with Type 1 Diabetes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Bayer's Kerendia (finerenone) for the treatment of adult patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) associated with type 1 diabetes (T1D). This marks the first new treatment option in over 30 years for this population, aiming to reduce urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio and slow the progression to end-stage kidney disease.
