AUA Updates Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer Treatment Guidelines

The American Urological Association (AUA), in collaboration with the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO), has issued a 2026 amendment to its guideline for Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC). This update introduces 40 new recommendations covering risk stratification, biomarkers, surveillance, and bladder-preserving therapy. The aim is to provide clinicians with evidence-based tools for individualized patient decision-making, reflecting the latest advancements in NMIBC management.
