Shionogi Acquires IntraBio, Bolstering Rare Disease Portfolio with Recently FDA-Approved AQNEURSA

Shionogi & Co., Ltd. announced its acquisition of IntraBio Inc., which will add AQNEURSA (levacetylleucine) to Shionogi's rare disease portfolio. AQNEURSA recently received supplemental FDA approval on September 18, 2026, for the treatment of Ataxia in patients with Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T), and was previously approved in the US (2024) and EU (2026) for neurological manifestations of Niemann-Pick disease type C (NPC).
