Editas Medicine Gains Approval for Gene Editing Trial in Australia

Editas Medicine has received approval to begin the Phase 1/2 Strive™ clinical trial for EDIT-401 in Australia, targeting heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH). This experimental gene editing medicine aims to increase LDLR protein expression and reduce LDL-cholesterol. Patient enrollment is planned for this year, with initial safety and tolerability data expected in Q1 2027, marking a step forward in gene therapy for HeFH.
