AstraZeneca's Trixeo Aerosphere Approved in EU for Asthma Treatment

AstraZeneca's Trixeo Aerosphere (budesonide/glycopyrronium/formoterol fumarate dihydrate) has received approval in the European Union as a maintenance treatment for asthma. This triple combination therapy is for patients aged 12 and older whose disease is not adequately controlled with medium-dose inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA) combination therapy. The approval is based on positive results from the Phase 3 KALOS and LOGOS trials, which showed significant improvements in lung function and reductions in severe asthma exacerbations.
