FDA Approves Atezolizumab for Stage III dMMR Colon Cancer Following Landmark ATOMIC Trial

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted approval for atezolizumab, in combination with chemotherapy, for the adjuvant treatment of stage III dMMR (deficient mismatch repair) colon cancer. This decision follows the results of the phase III ATOMIC trial, which demonstrated a 50 percent reduction in the risk of recurrence or death for patients receiving the treatment.
