Retatrutide Demonstrates Substantial Weight Loss and Glycemic Control in Phase 3 Trial for Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes
Results from the TRIUMPH-2 phase 3 trial, published in The Lancet, indicate that retatrutide, a GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptor agonist, led to significant improvements in body weight and glycemic control in adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes. The study, funded by Eli Lilly and Company, showed mean percentage body weight changes from -11.9% to -18.8% across different doses at week 80, compared to -5.1% with placebo.
