CRISPR-Based System Generates CAR T Cells Directly Within the Body for Cancer Therapy

Researchers have developed a novel CRISPR-based delivery system capable of engineering tumor-targeting CAR T cells directly within the body. This innovation could simplify and reduce the cost of CAR T-cell therapies, which are currently complex to manufacture. The system demonstrated complete responses in mouse models of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and multiple myeloma, also showing activity against solid tumors like sarcoma.
