Amazon Recalls Over 112,000 Bottles of Acetaminophen Due to Discoloration Concerns
Aurobindo Pharma USA Inc. has initiated a voluntary nationwide recall of more than 112,000 bottles of Amazon Basic Care Extra Strength Acetaminophen 500 mg caplets. This action follows consumer reports of discolored pills, a potential indicator of quality problems. The recall, which began in September 2026, was officially published in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) enforcement reports in October. The FDA has not yet classified the health hazard level associated with the discolored tablets. Affected products were distributed nationwide through Amazon and have expiration dates ranging from September 2027 to February 2028.
