FDA Approves RYZUMVI for Presbyopia, Viatris Seeks Commercial Partner
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved RYZUMVI (phentolamine ophthalmic solution 0.75%) for the treatment of presbyopia in adults, expanding its previous indication for pharmacologically-induced mydriasis. This approval is based on positive data from the Phase 3 VEGA-2 and VEGA-3 trials. Viatris, which holds the U.S. commercialization rights through a licensing agreement with Opus Genetics, is currently seeking a partner to market the drug domestically.
