MD Anderson Highlights New Cancer Breakthroughs, Including Lung Immunotherapy Trial Results

MD Anderson has unveiled several cancer research breakthroughs, notably the results from the global Phase 3 HARMONi trial. This study, published in The Lancet Oncology, investigated the novel bispecific immunotherapy ivonescimab in patients with EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. Patients receiving ivonescimab plus chemotherapy showed a 48% reduced likelihood of cancer progression or death compared to those on chemotherapy alone, with a median progression-free survival of 6.8 months versus 4.4 months.
