FDA Clears United Therapeutics' SUMMIT Clinical Trial for PH-COPD Treatment

United Therapeutics has received FDA clearance to proceed with its SUMMIT clinical trial for treprostinil SMI (soft mist inhaler). This Phase 2 study will assess the safety and tolerability of the treatment in approximately 40 patients with pulmonary hypertension associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (PH-COPD). The trial aims to address a condition currently lacking approved therapies.
