FDA Clears United Therapeutics to Begin Clinical Trial for New PH-COPD Inhaler

United Therapeutics Corporation has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to proceed with its SUMMIT clinical trial. This trial will evaluate treprostinil SMI, a new inhaled therapy delivered via a soft mist inhaler, for patients with pulmonary hypertension associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (PH-COPD).
