FDA Approves Ryzumvi for Presbyopia, Expanding Its Label

The FDA has approved phentolamine ophthalmic solution 0.75% (Ryzumvi) for the treatment of presbyopia in adults. This marks the eye drop's second approved use, following its 2023 clearance for pharmacologically induced mydriasis. The approval is based on results from the phase 3 VEGA-2 and VEGA-3 trials, which showed a significant improvement in near vision for treated participants.
