FDA Approves GSK's Hibsago for Chronic Hepatitis B

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved GSK's Hibsago (bepirovirsen) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. Phase III trials showed a 19% functional cure rate after six months of treatment. The trials demonstrated an acceptable safety and tolerability profile, with common adverse events including injection site erythema, local pain, and a temporary rise in liver enzyme levels.
