Ghana FDA Orders Immediate Recall of Franko Herbal Mixture Due to Dangerous Adulteration
Ghana's Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has ordered Franko Herbal Centre to immediately withdraw its 'Franko Herbal Mixture' from the market within fourteen days. Laboratory tests revealed that the product, which was officially registered as an all-herbal preparation, was illegally adulterated with active pharmaceutical ingredients, specifically Diazepam and Paracetamol. The FDA emphasized that such adulteration of herbal products directly contravenes Section 111 of the Public Health Act, 2012 (Act 851).
