Sagimet Biosciences Begins Phase 3 U.S. Trial for Novel Acne Treatment

Sagimet Biosciences Inc. has initiated its pivotal U.S. Phase 3 clinical trial, AURORA, for denifanstat, an oral treatment for moderate to severe acne. The first patient has been dosed in the trial, which includes adults and adolescents aged 12 and older. If approved, denifanstat could become the first once-daily oral acne medication with a new mechanism of action to receive FDA approval in over four decades, marking a significant potential advancement in dermatology.
