Short-Course Immunotherapy Shows Five Years Without Recurrence in dMMR Colon Cancer
Long-term results from the NICHE-2 study, published in The Lancet, reveal that a brief course of immunotherapy administered before surgery has prevented disease recurrence for five years in all participating patients with dMMR colon cancer. The study reported a three-year disease-free survival rate of 100% and an estimated five-year overall survival rate also at 100%, even in patients with locally advanced tumors, which are typically associated with a higher risk of recurrence after standard treatments.
