Short-Course Immunotherapy Shows Five Years Without Recurrence in dMMR Colon Cancer
Long-term results from the NICHE-2 study, published in The Lancet, indicate that a short course of immunotherapy given before surgery has prevented disease recurrence for five years in all patients with non-metastatic mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) colon cancer. Among 111 patients, no recurrences were observed, and all patients were alive at their most recent follow-up. This represents a significant advancement in colon cancer care.
