Abiraterone Demonstrates Durable Survival Benefit in Metastatic Prostate Cancer
Long-term data from the PEACE-1 Phase 3 trial, presented at the 2026 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress, show that adding abiraterone acetate plus prednisone to standard of care significantly improved overall survival in patients with de novo metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (CSPC). After a median follow-up of 7.7 years, the median overall survival was 6.1 years with abiraterone compared to 4.6 years without it, with benefits observed even in patients receiving triplet therapy.
