TAGRISSO Plus Savolitinib Demonstrates Significant Survival Benefit in MET-Driven EGFR-Mutated Lung Cancer
Positive results from the SAFFRON Phase III trial show that TAGRISSO® (osimertinib) combined with savolitinib significantly improved both progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with epidermal growth factor receptor-mutated (EGFRm) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors had high levels of MET overexpression or amplification and had progressed on prior TAGRISSO treatment. The combination reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 45% and the risk of death by 32% compared to platinum-based chemotherapy. These findings were presented during the Presidential Symposium at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026 and simultaneously published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
