Phase 3 RAINIER Results for Povetacicept in IgA Nephropathy Published in NEJM

Vertex Pharmaceuticals announced that Phase 3 RAINIER trial results for povetacicept in immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) were published in The New England Journal of Medicine and presented at the American Society of Nephrology Kidney Week 2026. The trial met its primary endpoint, showing a 52.0% reduction from baseline in proteinuria at Week 36, and also met both secondary endpoints, demonstrating a 77.4% reduction in serum galactose deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1) and 85.1% hematuria resolution in patients with baseline hematuria. Povetacicept was generally safe and well tolerated.
