Pilot Program Demonstrates Success in Enhancing Drug Supply Chain Transparency
A first-of-its-kind Drug Resiliency & Transparency Pilot, led by the End Drug Shortages Alliance (EDSA), has shown that hospitals, distributors, and other stakeholders can effectively share sensitive inventory data across organizational boundaries. This initiative, which emerged from a White House roundtable focused on pediatric oncology drug shortages, aims to improve shortage planning and protect patient access to critical medications. The pilot demonstrated that such transparency creates valuable planning insights even in the absence of an active drug shortage.
